Hong Jeehui

Merging illustration, painting, and upcycled materials, Hong Jeehui’s work is both poetic and provocative. Her compositions combine painting, collage, and unconventional materials— broken glass, mother-of-pearl, wire, thread, and rice—layered into richly textured surfaces that fuse fragility and resilience. Each piece carries the imprint of transformation, impermanence, and renewal, recasting discarded objects into intricate fields of memory and matter.

Hong practice is defined by a deliberate embrace of irregularity and the rejection of fixed style. Her experimental approach has led to collaborations with Christian Dior, Max Mara, and Estée Lauder, and her works are held in major collections including LG, Hyosung, and Daelim. Through shifting forms and matiere, Hong invites viewers to reflect on consumption, impermanence, and the quiet possibility of renewal.

Kim Jihee

Kim Jihee explores the dualities of beauty and pressure, desire and solitude. Her signature Sealed Smile series features wide-eyed girls with oversized, ornate sunglasses and awkward braces—figures that conceal vulnerability behind glamorous façades. These portraits reflect modern life’s contradictions: the curated exterior versus the emotional interior, the brilliant versus the brittle. This tension between brightness and melancholy, ornament and emptiness, forms the core of her visual language.

Kim has exhibited widely, with over 300 shows in New York, London, Beijing, and Seoul. Her Trunk series, inspired by themes of travel and longing, turns luggage into narrative sculpture, bridging fine art and collectible design. Her works are housed in public and corporate collections such as Suwon I-Park Museum, Missha, and Ferrari Korea, and she has collaborated with brands including Royal Salute, Crocs, and Stonehenge. In 2022, Sealed Smile was featured on the cover of Korea’s national high school art textbook.

Kim Seoul

Kim Seoul is a Korean artist whose layered botanical works bridge silkscreen, sculpture, and installation. Using silkscreen on transparent acrylic and film, she creates luminous “gardens” where overlapping images shift with the viewer’s movement. Her practice, once focused on the isolating rhythms of urban life, turned inward during the pandemic, inspired by the quiet intimacy of tending indoor plants. These meditative, labor-intensive works reflect on time, care, and the quiet vitality of nature in modern life.

At the core of her process is color separation, a printmaking technique in which each hue is printed from a separate plate. Kim approaches this methodically—mentally deconstructing images by color, layering them in sequence. Yet the final work always carries an element of unpredictability, shaped by time, material, and process. Her work has been exhibited internationally, with pieces in the collections of the RISD Museum, He Art Museum (China), and Seattle City Hall.

Ko Sangwoo

Koh Sang Woo is an internationally acclaimed Korean artist known for his iconic blue-toned portraits of endangered animals. Working through a distinctive process that fuses photography, painting, and digital manipulation, his practice gives voice to the marginalized through luminous, otherworldly imagery created using negative film and color inversion. His endangered species portraits transcend traditional nature photography by according these creatures the gravitas of formal human portraiture, their direct gaze radiating defiance, melancholy, and vulnerability.
By elevating animal subjects to human status, Koh articulates that the extinction crisis mirrors humanity's own existential precarity. His work is held in major collections including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Korea and supported by organizations like the World Wildlife Fund, demonstrating art's capacity to reshape discourse on climate change and interspecies coexistence.

Lee Sangwon

Lee Sangwon is a Korean painter known for his dynamic aerial compositions of crowds in motion - at beaches, ski slopes, parks, and pools. Working at the intersection of photography and painting, he captures the shared human longing for rest, play, and presence. Starting with his own photographs of leisure scenes, he transforms them into panoramic works that blur the line between individual and collective experience. Rendered from a bird’s-eye view, his figures become rhythmic patterns - anonymous yet familiar. In his work, individuality dissolves; what matters is not who these people are, but the simple act of enjoying leisure together. His compositions often resemble intricate patterns from afar, yet up close, they reveal the intimacy of movement, allowing viewers to imagine themselves within the scene. Lee has exhibited widely since the early 2000s. His work is held in the collections of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Korea, Seoul Museum of Art, Sungkok Art Museum, and institutions such as POSCO, LG, Hanwha Resort, and Daemyung Resort.

Yoo Jian

Yoo Jian is a Korean artist redefining the boundaries of mother-of-pearl in contemporary art. Traditionally reserved for royal crafts in East Asia, nacre (mother-of-pearl) is her medium of innovation, precision, and poetic reflection. With thousands of hand-cut fragments, she creates luminous compositions that capture the rhythms of nature and the quiet grandeur of time. Her Moon Jar series evokes the glow of moonlight and waves through iridescent surfaces—one of which was gifted to President Joe Biden during the 2023 Korea-U.S. summit. Her Wave and Flow series further explores the material’s inherent qualities, embodying her practice’s core focus on nature and transformation. Yoo’s works have been presented to world leaders in over 45 countries and collected by brands such as Rolls-Royce, Delvaux, Fred, and The History of Whoo at Frieze New York. Through her work, she bridges heritage and innovation, revealing new possibilities within tradition.
